Stroller Season

Now that it's officially summer and finally getting us some nice weather (excluding today for us Postville people!), make sure you've got what you need to take a nice, long stroll every day.

Here are some great ideas for making the walks that much nicer for you:

1.Diaper Bags that clip on to the stroller. Skip Hop is by far my favorite diaper bag company. They have their 'luxury' bags that can run you anywhere from $54 to $99 (which is great for a 'luxury bag'!!) or their private line for Target, which can cost either $20.99 or $29.99. I especially love their diaper bag wristlets, Pronto on their regular site, Changing Wallet at Target.

2. If you are already in love with your diaper bag and it's not a clip-on style, check out The Slipnot by Fleurville. These little guys will connect almost any diaper bag to almost any stroller handle!!

3. A great universal cup holder is the Baby Jogger Liquid Holster (some sites may show it as the Bag Boy Liquid Holster). It holds most sizes, does well over bumps, and really fits well on most strollers!

4. An entertaining stroller toy for baby is a good idea. Tiny Love makes a few stroller arches, my favorite being the Sunny Stroll!

5. Keeping baby safe from the sun is extremely important. Adding a universal sunshade can really help if the canopy on your stroller doesn't quite cut it! Protect-a-Bub and Kiddopotamus make two great products, both very similar, different price ranges.

6. Bottles and Sippy Cups are easily thrown overboard, keep them strapped in with Booginhead SippiGrip.

7. For your own excersize purposes, keep an eye on how long you walk each day with a Strollometer! So cool!!!

Enjoy your walks!!

Water Safety

Just a reminder, now that it is summer time, it is EXTREMELY important that your kids are water safe if you plan on hanging out by the pool. Check for local swimming lessons and keep your kids safe and give yourself a little peace of mind!!!

Don't forget sunscreen!!!

There are these adorable blankets that have a pull-string through the sides, when you're done using it as a blanket it becomes your bag, they are called Blanket Bags. They are around $40-$50, depending on the pattern you choose. Perfect for the summer!!!

Happy summer days!!!!!

Great Summer Product

It's the bike that lasts through all of 'toddlerness'! I've been trying to find a ride-on toy for Benny, something that starts out with me in control and eventually becomes a toy for him to use! Well, I found what I wanted: the Little Tikes 3-in-1 Smart Trike, for $89.99. Stage one on this bike involves a seat belt, a plastic harness that keeps the child on the seat, a sun canopy, and a height adjustable handle for Mom and Dad to do the steering!

So, being that I sat and thought about it too long, and it was coming into summer season, by the time I decided that this was the bike for Benny, it was sold out everywhere! So, I scoured high and low, anytime we drove past Toys R Us we had to stop and check! Persistence paid off and we are now the happy owners of said trike!!!

First, let me start off with telling you that Benny can not get enough of it! Sometimes he'll just sit in it in the living room playing with a small toy! He also likes to walk around the house, pushing it! We put him in it and go for a walk if he's too wound up to go to sleep at night, it really calms him down!
Ok, now for the real review: the sun canopy was a waste of time, we took it off after one day. It is very flimsy and does not protect much at all. The steering is a bit harder than I had expected but gets the job done, with some getting used to! The handle itself is awesome, in its lowest setting, Benny walks around pushing it. In it's highest setting, Shuky loves to push Benny! I fit somewhere in between :). The seat belt could use something more of a chest clip, considering that the suggested age starts at 9-10 months. I am looking for something, so stay posted...for now Benny has a little too much freedom! The harness is amazing, sometimes Benny rests his hands on that instead of the handles! There are two small footrests that fold out for him, until he's big enough to use the foot pedals! Another great thing about this bike is, with the handle on it's lowest setting, it rolls right into the back of my Blazer. We take it with us on all our outings!

We are still in Stage one. When we make it to Stage Two, I will do another review. In the meantime, I would highly recommend this bike. It is a little pricey, but keep in mind, if taken care of properly, this could last through three summers!!! Stay tuned for pictures!
